DEIR EZ-ZOR, Syria (North Press) – A man and his son were injured on Monday in a landmine explosion in the western countryside of Deir ez-Zor in eastern Syria.
According to a local source, the landmine detonated as a motorcycle passed by on the outskirts of al-Masrab, a village in the western countryside of Deir ez-Zor. The motorcycle’s owner was reportedly on his way to the village’s market.
The explosion injured Munther al-Burghash, 46, and his eight-year-old son, Ahmad.
The source added that the victims were transferred to a hospital in Damascus, where they remain in critical condition, as confirmed by the al-Burghash family.
