SNA factions carry out killings, looting in Syria’s Manbij
RAQQA, Syria (North Press) – Turkish forces and affiliated armed opposition factions, aka the Syrian National Army (SNA) carried out on Monday several killings and looting of properties in the city of Manbij, northern Syria.
Local residents said that SNA factions were storming homes of Kurds and looting properties. The SNA factions attacked Manbij following the launch of a military operation “Dawn of Freedom.”
A local source who fled Manbij for Kobani described the situation, stating, “The so-called SNA is breaking into Kurdish homes and stealing their belongings.”
He told North Press that he and his family fled to Kobani out of fear of the factions’ actions.
On Monday evening, the SNA announced they had seized control of Manbij. However, the Manbij Military Council countered this claim, stating that its forces were still engaged in intense clashes with the militants.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) pointed out that SNA factions executed dozens of injured fighters from the Manbij Military Council, a component of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF).
The fighters had been receiving treatment in a military hospital in northern Manbij, before their evacuation routes were cut off.
Additionally, a video circulated online showing Turkish soldiers and militants interacting with wounded military personnel. In the footage, one of the injured men, who identified himself as a member of the Self-Defense Forces, was executed alongside another injured individual by a Turkish soldier, as per the video.
