SNA announces full control over Tel Rifaat town in Aleppo

ALEPPO, Syria (North Press) – Turkish-backed armed opposition factions, aka the Syrian National Army (SNA), announced on Sunday that they controlled the town of Tel Rifaat in the northern countryside of Aleppo, northwestern Syria, after clashes with Kurdish forces.

SNA media outlets reported that their factions managed to take complete control of the town of Tel Rifaat in the north of Aleppo.

The outlets added that the Sultan Suleiman Shah faction (al-Amshat) and Hamza Division were the ones who entered the neighborhoods of the town.

The town of Tel Rifaat, some 35 km to the north of the city of Aleppo, used to be a shelter for Afrin displaced people following the Turkish invasion of Afrin and its countryside in 2018 which resulted in the displacement of about 300,000 of the original inhabitants.
