Over 130 Syrian actors to meet in Brussels for national dialogue
QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – A major gathering of Syrian politicians and intellectuals is set to take place in Brussels on Oct. 25 and 26, 2024, Syrian oppositionist Muwaffaq Nyrabiya said on Tuesday.
In an exclusive statement to the Kurdish Hawar News Agency (ANHA), Nyrabiya, a member of the Preparatory Committee for the “Syrian Democratic Track” conference, shared details of the event.
The conference, which will bring together approximately 30 organizing forces and independent Syrian figures from both inside and outside the country, aims to address key issues related to the Syrian conflict.
A total of 90 participants are expected to attend in person, while 40 more will join online.
Nyrabiya emphasized that the conference will focus on critical topics such as constitutional principles, decentralization, the separation of religion from the state, and women’s liberation.
These discussions are aimed at pushing forward solutions for Syria’s political crisis.
Nyrabiya further highlighted that this event is considered a significant step toward organizing a broader Syrian national conference, addressing fundamental identity and national challenges within Syria’s framework.
