Syrian air defenses block attacks near Syria’s Tartus – SOHR
QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – Syrian air defenses intercepted on Tuesday night attacks on the Syrian regional waters opposite the city of Tartus on the Syrian coast, a war monitor said on Tuesday.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) said the air defenses shot down 13 targets near Tartus and Jabala, although it is unclear whether these targets were missiles or drones.
Additionally, debris from a missile fired by the Syrian Airforce Defenses landed near a house in the village of Isqabuly in the east of Tartus.
The Syrian Ministry of Defense has yet to comment on the attacks.
Since the start of Syrian war in 2011, Israel has conducted many military strikes in Syria, mainly on posts of the Syrian government forces and Iranian-backed militias, including the Lebanese Hezbollah, but it seldom comments on these attacks.
