Iraqi forces capture ISIS militant in Baghdad
DAMASCUS, Syria (North Press) – Iraqi forces captured on Sunday a militant of the Islamic State group (ISIS) in Baghdad.
The Iraqi Federal Intelligence and Investigations Agency (FIIA) stated that a unit specialized in combating terrorism in Baghdad ambushed a wanted suspect after gathering information about his whereabouts.
“When he was investigated, he explicitly confessed to his affiliation with the terrorist ISIS gangs,” the statement read.
The captured militant added that he participated in various terrorist activities, including kidnapping and killing many security personnel in Nineveh during ISIS’s control in 2014.
Additionally, he acknowledged taking part in a terrorist attack against security forces in the Wadi Hajar area.
On Sep. 4, Iraqi forces announced the capture of an ISIS militant in Karbala Governorate.
