DAMASCUS, Syria (North Press) – Iraqi forces announced on Friday the killing of 14 members of the Islamic State (ISIS), including leaders, in Anbar Governorate, western Iraq.
In a statement, the Joint Operations Command of the Iraqi forces said that based on information, they launched airstrikes on the hideouts of ISIS members in the al-Hazimi area east of Wadi al-Ghadhf in Anbar Governorate.
The airstrikes resulted in the killing of 14 ISIS, some of whom were wearing suicide vests and carrying hand grenades, according to the statement.
The statement added that all hideouts were destroyed along with their weapons, ammunition, and logistical support.
Several explosive belts were detonated, and important documents and communication devices were seized, the statement noted.
