Israeli airstrikes leave 7 civilians injured in central Syria

QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – Syria’s state-run news agency SANA reported on Friday that seven civilians were injured in Israeli airstrikes that targeted several locations in central Syria.

A military source told SANA that the attack occurred around 7:35 PM from the direction of northern Lebanon, leaving “7 civilians injured and caused material damages.”

However, the Syrian Observatory For Human Rights (SOHR) said three Iranian-backed militants were killed and ten others were injured in the attacks.

The SOHR added the attacks targeted four positions in Homs and Hama countryside, targeting a weapon depot north western of Hama, the administration of the 47th Brigade and a battery of the air-defense in the village of Maarin al-Jabal where members of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and Syrian and non-Syrian Iran-backed militias are stationed.

“Israeli forces targeted fuel stores that belong to Syrian members of the Lebanese Hezbollah in western Homs countryside western to Homs refinery, on the road between Safita and Homs Villages near Khirbt Al-Tina, and targeted a another position southern to Ma’arin Mountain, where the head of the Rapid Intervention Squad that is backed by the “Iranian Revolutionary Guards” militia is present,” the SOHR said.

Meanwhile, sources told North Press that Israeli strikes targeted locations in the villages of Khattab and al-Sheer in the northern countryside of Hama, as well as the village of Umm Haratein in the countryside of Homs, causing losses.
