Government thwarts infiltration attempt in Syria’s Latakia

DAMSCUS, Syria (North Press) – Syria’s Ministry of Defense announced on Sunday that its forces thwarted an attempt by a “terrorist group” to infiltrate one of its posts in the northern countryside of Latakia, west Syria.

The state-run SANA news agency said, quoting a statement by the Ministry of Defense, “A unit of our armed forces operating in the direction of the northern Lattakia countryside confronted a terrorist group that tried to infiltrate one of our military posts.”

“Our armed forces managed to kill and injure most of the group’s members, and pull out bodies of three of the dead terrorists,” according to the statement.
