Unknown strike on IRGC posts in Syria kills, injures 33 militants
DEIR EZ-ZOR, Syria (North Press) – Unknown drones attacked on Friday night posts of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Crops (IRGC) in Deir ez-Zor Governorate, eastern Syria, leaving dozens of casualties.
A military source from the IRGC told North Press that drones bombed an armory and an observation post in the town of Abu Kamal, east of Deir ez-Zor.
The source said the drones also attacked Regiment 47 of the IRGC and a military post in the town of Sayyal in the same area.
The drones further attacked three vehicles of the IRGC that entered the Syrian territory coming from Iraq, according to the source.
The strike resulted in the killing of eight IRGC militants and the injury of 25 others. The casualties included members of Lebanese, Iranian, and Iraqi nationalities, the source noted.
Syria’s state-run media reported that American drones targeted the town of Abu Kamal.
