Rockets target U.S. base in Syria’s Hasakah
HASAKAH, Syria (North Press) – On Tuesday, a U.S. base in the town of Shaddadi in southern Hasakah Governorate, northeastern Syria, was struck by rockets believed to have been launched by the Islamic Resistance in Iraq, a coalition of Iran-backed militias in Iraq and Syria.
The group has claimed responsibility for almost every attack on U.S. bases in Iraq and Syria.
Eyewitnesses reported to North Press hearing multiple explosions near the U.S. base in Shaddadi.
Since the outbreak of the Israel-Hamas conflict on Oct. 7, bases of the U.S. and the U.S.-led Global Coalition have been attacked 103 times by Iran-backed groups, according to American officials.
No casualties have been reported.
