Turkish authorities transfer 6 detainees from Syria’s Afrin to Turkey
AFRIN, Syria (North Press) – Turkish authorities transported six Syrian detainees, including two women, from the Kafr Janneh prison in northeast of the city of Afrin, northwestern Syria, to a Turkey-based prison.
A source in the Turkish-backed Military Police reported the transfer of six Kurdish detainees, including two women, on charges of dealings with the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES) before the Turkish occupation of Afrin.
The detainees had been held for about a month and transported via al-Hamam border crossing at the town of Jindires. This is the third such transfer from the same prison in December, totaling 14 detainees, including five women.
On Dec. 7, Turkish authorities transferred 12 Syrian detainees, including three young women, from the same prison to prisons in Turkish territory on charges of espionage for the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK).
