DEIR EZ-ZOR, Syria (North Press) – Unidentified gunmen attacked on Monday at dawn posts of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) in the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor, eastern Syria.
A military source in the SDF told North Press that unknown gunmen attacked with machineguns SDF posts in the towns of al-Kishkiyah and Abu Hamam in the east of Deir ez-Zor on the bank of the Euphrates River.
The source also said that unidentified armed individuals targeted with an RPG weapon an SDF post near the Euphrates River in the town of Shuhail in the east of Deir ez-Zor without causing any casualties.
Following the attacks, the SDF carried out a series of raids in Shuhail, Abu Hamam, and al-Kishkiyah, and arrested four individuals involved in attacks, funded by the Syrian government, against their posts, according to the source.
Increasing attacks are carried out against SDF posts in Deir ez-Zor. The SDF says that armed gunmen affiliated with the government forces are infiltrating from areas west of the Euphrates River to attack them.
