UK poses sanctions on 8 Syrian-regime linked individuals

QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – TheUK announced on Friday sanctions targeting eight Syrian government-linked individuals for committing human rights abuses.

“Today the UK is announcing 46 sanctions, including asset freezes and travel bans,” the UK Government said in a press release.

This came ahead of the 75th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights on Dec. 10.

The sanctions targeted eight “Syrian regime-linked individuals” for complicity in atrocities against the Syrian people and for their involvement in the repression of citizens.

This includes government ministers and senior members of the government forces.

The sanctioned individuals are: Major Mohammad Kanjou, Major General Yazan al-Homsi, Boutros al Hallaq, Louai Emad El-Din al-Munajjid, Firas Hassan Qaddour, Mohsen Abdul Karim Ali, Abdel Qader Jokhadar, and Ahmed Mohammad Bustaji.
