2 SNA militants injured in separate attacks in Syria’s Afrin
AFRIN, Syria (North Press) – On Monday, a leader and a member of factions affiliated with the Turkish-backed Syrian National Army (SNA) were injured in two separate attacks in the countryside of the city of Afrin, northwestern Syria.
Recently, areas held by SNA factions have been witnessing increased attacks against SNA militants, without any party claiming responsibility.
A security source in the SNA told North Press that an IED detonated with a military vehicle this afternoon on the road linking Afrin to the village of Ghazawiyah, south of the city.
The source added that the explosion resulted in the injury of Amjad al-Homsy, a leader in the SNA’s Levant Front, who hails from Homs, central Syria. He was then transferred to the military hospital in Afrin.
The source also pointed out that unknown gunmen opened fire on a checkpoint of the SNA’s Ninth Division on the road between the towns of Rajo and Meidan Ekbis, northwest of Afrin. The attack critically injured a militant who was subsequently transported to Turkey.
