Turkish shelling disrupts services in Syria’s Hasakah

HASAKAH, Syria (North Press) – Turkish forces shelled on Monday two villages in the countryside of Hasakah, northeastern Syria. The attacks caused material damages and disrupted the operations of the municipality and service facilities.

A local source told North Press that Turkish forces and Turkish-backed armed opposition factions, aka the Syrian National Army (SNA), shelled the villages of Rabiat and Dada Abdal in the countryside of Zirgan (Abu Rasin) in the northwest of Hasakah.

The shelling, which lasted for about one hour, rocked the houses of the villagers, causing material damages, according to the source.

Another source said the employees of the municipality in Zirgan and other service facilities could not get to their workplaces for fear of more attacks.

Zirgan and its countryside frequently undergo shelling by Turkish forces and affiliated SNA factions. In late, 2022, a Turkish shelling on Rabiat destroyed a bread bakery that served 20 villages in the area.
