DEIR EZ-ZOR, Syria (North Press) – Unknown gunmen targeted on Saturday at night headquarters of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) in the countryside of Deir ez-Zor Governorate, east Syria.
A military source of the SDF in Deir ez-Zor said that unknown gunmen targeted three military headquarters in the town of al-Ozba in the northern countryside of Deir ez-Zor. The attack coincided with another one that targeted SDF posts in the town of al-Suwar in the northern countryside of Deir ez-Zor.
The source said that the gunmen are likely affiliated with the Syrian government and the Iranian-backed militias.
During the recent three months, Deir ez-Zor has witnessed attacks launched from the western bank of Euphrates River where the government forces and Iranian-backed militias are controlling.
Discrete attacks were also launched by unknown gunmen on headquarters and security posts of the SDF in the villages of al-Hissan, Meheimideh, and al-Ji’a in the western countryside of Deir ez-Zor.
In the eastern countryside, unknown assailants carried out attacks in the towns and villages of Shuhail, Abu Hardoub, al-Hejjnah, and Sabha.
The SDF confronted all the attacks and no casualties were reported.
