Body of NDF militant found dead in Syria’s Deir ez-Zor
DEIR EZ-ZOR, Syria (North Press) – Locals in the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor, eastern Syria, found on Monday the dead body of a militant of the National Defense Forces (NDF), an armed group affiliated with the Syrian government forces.
A source within the NDF told North Press the dead body of Luay al-Hamad, 29, an NDF militant, was found by locals in the town of Sabikhan in the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor. The body of al-Hamad, who hailed from Sabikhan, was found in the desert near the town with gunshots marks on his head.
The source added that al-Hamad had been out of reach for three days after leaving his workplace.
So far, no party has claimed responsibility for the killing, according to the source.
Iranian-backed militias and the government forces control large areas of the Syrian Desert and the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor, which witness intensive operations and attacks by Islamic State (ISIS) sleeper cells.
