Government forces shell SDF-held town in Syria’s Deir ez-Zor

DEIR EZ-ZOR, Syria (North Press) – On Tuesday, the Syrian government forces and their auxiliary forces targeted with rockets the populated town of al-Ozba in eastern Deir ez-Zor Governorate, eastern Syria.

A local source from the town of al-Ozba, controlled by the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), told North Press that more than 12 rockets were launched from areas in west of the Euphrates and landed in close proximity to civilian homes and farmlands near the town.

He added that the targeting was limited to material damage to some of the residents’ properties.

The source pointed out that the neighborhoods where the rockets fell did not have any military posts of the SDF, clarifying that this was the second targeting in two days. Earlier, the town was targeted with five rockets.

On Monday, several shells fell on homes and farmlands in areas controlled by the SDF in eastern Deir ez-Zor. These shells originated from areas held by the government forces in Deir ez-Zor, resulting in material damage to the properties of residents.
