SNA factions raid houses, arrest people in Syria’s Sere Kaniye

SERE KANIYE, Syria (North press) – On Tuesday, factions of the Turkish-backed Syrian National Army (SNA) raided houses in a town near the city of Sere Kaniye (Ras al-Ain), northeastern Syria, and arrested 15 people.

A military source told North Press that the Sultan Murad Division and the Hamzat Division, both part of the SNA’s Second Legion, conducted a series of arrests in the town of Mabrouka, west of Sere Kaniye, detaining 15 people, including two women.

The source added that the SNA militants closed the entrances to the town and stormed houses in search of the perpetrators of an attack on a military vehicle with an IED, which resulted in the injury of two SNA militants on the outskirts of Mabrouka.

The source explained that among the detainees are Niban al-Mazlooh, Abdurrazzaq Mazlooh, Khatoun Aqeel, Warda Mazlooh, Ahmad al-Hasso, and Nader Shahada, in addition to nine other individuals. All of them have been transferred to the Counter-Terrorism Prison in the city of Sere Kaniye.

The city of Sere Kaniye and its surrounding areas have been under the control of the Turkish forces and their affiliated SNA factions since October 2019, following a military operation dubbed ‘Peace Spring’.
