Israeli strikes kill 4 soldiers, 7 Hezbollah militants in Syria’s Homs

DAMASCUS, Syria (North Press) – Israeli airstrikes killed on Friday seven militants of the Lebanese Hezbollah and four Syrian soldiers in the eastern countryside of Homs, central Syria.

A source within the government forces, who preferred to remain unnamed for security reasons, told North Press on Saturday that Israeli airstrikes targeted military posts of the government forces and Hezbollah in the eastern countryside of Homs, killing four Syrian soldiers and seven Hezbollah militants.

According to pro-government media outlets,  the Syrian air defenses responded to Israeli attacks on two posts in southeast of Homs and added that the government forces downed a number of rockets before hitting their target. They reported that the strikes caused material damages and killed only one soldier.

Israel’s military said they hit targets in Syria in response to a drone strike in the direction of the city of Eilat in the south of Israel that reportedly came from Syria.

The source said that the dead Syrian soldiers were “Wa’el Ahmad al-Ibrahim, Taher Omar Salami, Abdurrahman Ahmad Assas, Ali Ali al-Ashhab.”

He also added the killed militants from Hezbollah were “Qassim Muhammad Awada, Muhammad Ali Abbas Assaf, Ali Khalil al-Ali, Abdullatif Hassan Suwaydan, Jawad Mahdi Hashim, Muhammad Qassim Tales, Jafar Ali Sarhan.”
