SDF announces arresting ‘terrorist’ in Syria’s Deir ez-Zor

DEIR EZ-ZOR, Syria (North Press) – The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) arrested a man on Tuesday who attempted to plant an IED in front of a shop in the village of al-Sabha in the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor Governorate, eastern Syria.

The eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor has recently witnessed a spike in operations aimed at destabilizing security in the area. These activities are primarily carried out by armed groups supported by the Syrian government and Iran, along with occasional attacks by the Islamic State (ISIS).

The SDF stated on its official page, “We successfully captured a terrorist in the town of Al-Sabha in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor, while he was attempting to plant an IED in front of one of the civilian shops in the town.”

The SDF added, “Immediately upon his arrest, our forces began investigating him to find out who supported him and who motivated him to initiate terrorist acts, as well as the motives of the terrorist operation he intended to carry out, which primarily targeted safe civilians.”

The SDF media further added, “With the cooperation of our people, we will spare no effort in pursuing terrorists and anyone who attempting to undermine the safety and stability of our regions.”
