SDC condemns killing of civilians in Gaza

QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – The Syrian Democratic Council (SDC) condemned, on Wednesday, the massacres committed against civilians in the Gaza Strip since October 7 until today, the latest being the targeting of al-Ahli hospital.

More than 500 people were killed in the attack on the al-Ahli hospital in Gaza Strip yesterday, according to the Palestinian side, which accused Israel of committing a massacre.

In a statement published on SDC’s official page, the council stated that it continues to follow closely the dangerous developments and tragic events in Gaza Strip and the humanitarian catastrophe its residents are experiencing.

The statement further condemned in the strongest terms the horrifying massacres committed against civilians since October 7 until today, the latest being the brutal targeting of al-Maamadani hospital.

The SDC expressed its deep sorrow and profound regret for the loss of innocent lives and offered condolences to the families of the casualties.

It emphasized the need for the international community to shoulder its responsibilities, take effective measures to halt the escalation, cease the bloodshed, refrain from targeting civilians, and adhere to the utmost commitment to human rights and international humanitarian law.

Furthermore, the SDC affirmed the importance of earnestly seeking to revive the peace process and the necessity of implementing international legitimacy resolutions that affirm the Palestinian people’s right to self-determination. It emphasized finding a just and lasting resolution for the conflict and ensuring the preservation of people’s lives and human dignity for all.
