Coalition announces capture of ISIS facilitator in NE Syria

QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – The US-led Global Coalition to Defeat ISIS announced on Thursday the capture of a prominent ISIS facilitator in northeast Syria in late September.  

The US military successfully captured an ISIS facilitator called Mamdouh Ibrahim al-Haji Sheikh during an operation in northeast Syria on Sep. 28, the coalition said on its X platform.

In septmber, the US Central Command (CENTCOM) announced the capture of Abu Halil al-Fad’ani, an ISIS operational and facilitation official in Syria.

By the capture of al-Haji Sheikh, the coalition said it “removed another ISIS member from the battlefield.”
