Civilian killed by unknown gunmen in eastern Deir ez-Zor
DEIR EZ-ZOR, Syria (North Press) – A civilian was killed by unidentified gunmen on Monday in the town of Abu Hamam in eastern Deir ez-Zor, eastern Syria.
Ayman al-Hamoud, a resident of Abu Hamam, told North Press that “two unknown gunmen riding a motorcycle opened fire 37-year-old Jamal al-Eid, near the agricultural company road in Abu Hamam, eastern Deir ez-Zor.”
He added that the attack resulted in the immediate death of al-Eid, noting that the attackers fled among the houses of civilians in the town.
Two days ago, an employee of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES) was killed and another was wounded in a similar attack in the town of al-Hawayij in the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor.
The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) keeps pursuing ISIS sleeper cells in Deir ez-Zor eastern countryside with the aim of maintaining security and stability in the region.
