Turkey transfers 6 Syrians from SNA-held areas to prison in Urfa

TEL ABYAD, Syria (North Press) – Turkish authorities with cooperation with the Turkish-backed armed opposition factions, aka the Syrian National Army (SNA), transferred, on Tuesday, six Syrian detainees from one of the latest’s prisons in the city of Tel Abyad, northern Raqqa Governorate, northern Syria, to Turkey.

“Turkish intelligence transferred six detainees from a prison in Tel Abyad using three Turkish vehicles to one of its prisons in the Turkish province of Urfa”, an official in the Military Police, affiliated with the SNA, told North Press.

“The detainees include four Kurdish individuals and two Turkmen, including a young person under the age of 17, who were arrested last March while attempting to cross into the Turkish territory from the outskirts of Raqqa with the goal of migrating to a European country”, the source added.

The official pointed out that the detainees were subjected to an investigation by the Military Police and they were accused of terrorism”.

Transferring these detainees by the Turkish intelligence to its prisons on its territory could expose them to lengthy sentences.
