3 HTS militants killed in clashes with SNA over crossing in Aleppo

ALEPPO, Syria (North Press) – Three militants of Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS, formerly al-Nusra Front) were killed and three others were captured on Tuesday following clashes with the Turkish-backed armed opposition factions, aka the Syrian National Army (SNA), in the city of al-Bab, in Aleppo eastern countryside, northwest Syria.

North Press correspondent said violent clashes with heavy machineguns and mortar shells erupted between the two parties in the town of Dabiq in northeast Aleppo and the villages of Numan, Tel Battal and Baraan in the countryside of al-Bab.

He added the HTS, supported by Ahrar al-Sham (Eastern Sector) and factions of the Shahba Gathering, attempted to raid the village of Numan amid violent clashes on its outskirts, which resulted in the killing and capture of six of the HTS militants.

On Sep. 24, negotiations between the HTS and the SNA over dividing the revenue of al-Hamran crossing, in the city of Jarablus, in the eastern countryside of Aleppo, failed, leading to a renewal of clashes which resulted in the killing of seven and injury of about 20 militants from both parties.

Two days earlier, an unidentified airstrike targeted the headquarter of the Ahrar al-Sham (Eastern Sector) near al-Bab, killing four militants and injuring three others.

Since Sep. 21, the countryside of Aleppo witnesses fierce clashes between the HTS and SNA’s Second Legion over the control of al-Hamran crossing which is an important economic asset in the region.
