Turkish forces shell Syria’s Tel Tamr with artillery shells

TEL TAMR, Syria (North Press) – Turkish forces attacked on Monday at dawn the countryside of the town of Tel Tamr, north of Hasakah Governorate, northeast Syria, with dozens of heavy artillery shells.

A military source told North Press that the Turkish forces targeted with dozens of artillery shells the village of Tel Karah Beit in the northwestern countryside of Tel Tamr.

The source added the attack caused major material damage in the houses and properties of civilians in the village.

On Sunday at night, the Turkish forces attacked the same village along with the village of Tawila and Tel Tawil in the western countryside of Tel Tamr with heavy artillery and machineguns.

Tel Tamr, which has a population of about 25,000 and is 30 km away from the Syrian-Turkish border, is of strategic importance as it is a junction on the M4 Highway linking Hasakah to Aleppo Governorate in the northwest.

The town has been under constant attacks by the Turkish forces and their affiliated factions of the Syrian National Army (SNA) factions for more than two years.
