Turkish forces shell villages in Hasakah’s Tel Tamr

TEL TAMR, Syria (North Press) – On Sunday, Turkish forces shelled three villages in the western countryside of Tel Tamr town, northern Hasakah in northeastern Syria.

A military source told North Press, “Turkish forces targeted the villages of al-Tawila, Tel Tawil, and Tel Karah Beit in the western countryside of Tel Tamr with heavy artillery and machine guns.”

The Turkish shelling resulted in material losses, but no human losses or injuries have been reported.

Tel Tamr, which has a population of about 25,000 and is 30 km away from the Syrian-Turkish border, is of strategic importance as it is a junction on the M4 Highway linking Hasakah to Aleppo Governorate in the northwest.

The town has been under constant attacks by the Turkish forces and their affiliated factions of the Syrian National Army (SNA) factions for more than two years.

Earlier today, Turkish forces and their affiliated SNA factions also targeted municipality workers in the nearby town of Zirgan, in northern Hasakah, with artillery shells while they were repairing and patching streets in the southern part of the town.
