HTS arrests judge in Syria’s Idlib

IDLIB, Syria (North Press) – General Security Service (GSS) of Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS – formerly al-Nusra Front) arrested on Friday a judge affiliated with the HTS on charges of collaborating with the Syrian government in Idlib governorate, northwest Syria.

An administrative in the Investigations Office in Criminal Security Branch of the HTS told North Press that the GSS’ branch 107 conducted a raid on the house of Obaida Rahmoun, a judge, in al-Jamia neighborhood in the city of Idlib, and arrested him on charges of collaborating with the government forces.

The source pointed out that the arrest campaign included militants and leaders of security branches in the HTS on charges of collaboration with the government forces or foreign parties.

The HTS has recently been conducting many arrest operations targeting both leaders and militants within its ranks.
