NDF leader ends life with self-detonation in Syria’s Hasakah

HASAKAH, Syria (North Press) – Government media outlets announced on Friday the killing of the leader of the National Defense Forces (NDF) Abdulqader Hamo in the city of Hasakah, northeast Syria, by detonating himself with an explosive belt in one of the basements of the house where he had taken refuge for more than two days.

Government media reported that “during the attempt by military security forces to arrest the wanted person Hamo, he detonated himself in his house wearing a suicide belt.”

This afternoon, a government source in Hasakah told North Press that “the military operations inside the city of Hasakah have ended after full control was achieved over the house where Hamo had taken refuge and it was his last stronghold in the government-held area over the past two days.”

Earlier in the day, two children were injured by stray bullets in al-Mufti and al-Khashman neighborhoods in the city of Hasakah, following clashes that took place this morning between the government forces and the NDF.

Additionally, five soldiers of the government forces were killed and injured following clashes with the NDF.

Since last Friday, Hasakah has witnessed tension and continuous clashes between government forces and the NDF who rebelled against the former, resulting in several deaths and injuries among civilians and soldiers of the government forces and the NDF.
