HTS continues arrest campaign in Syria’s Idlib
IDLIB, Syria (North Press) – Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS, formerly al-Nusra Front) launched on Thursday a raid campaign in the town of Ariha, southern Idlib, northwestern Syria, and arrested 12 individuals, including four HTS members accused of inciting against the group and its leader Abu Mohammad al-Jolani.
HTS has continued its raid campaign for the fourth consecutive day, targeting its own members accused of charges such as espionage and incitement against the group.
An exclusive source informed North Press that “two groups of HTS’ General Security Services [GSS] stormed a number of houses in the southern and western outskirts of Ariha. The GSS arrested 12 people including four former members of HTS.”
The source mentioned that the raid operation lasted for two hours, and the individuals who were arrested were subsequently taken to Branch 107 in Idlib for further investigation. This recent operation brings the total number of people arrested from Ariha this month to 41, including two women.
