SDF kills, injures 23 HTS militants in Syria’s Manbij
IDLIB, Syria (North Press) – On Friday, the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) killed five militants of the Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS, formerly al-Nusra Front) and injured 18 others in an infiltration attempt by the latter to the countryside of the city of Manbij in northern Syria that is run by the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES).
The killed and injured were hospitalized to Jarablus, a city under the Turkish occupation in Aleppo eastern countryside, a military source told North Press.
The HTS militants were killed and injured after clashes with the SDF fighters in the village of Arab Hassan, west of Manbij, the source said.
On Thursday, the SDF announced repelling attacks by the Turkish forces and their affiliated armed opposition factions, aka the Syrian National Army (SNA), in Manbij.
In the recent days, the SNA factions and the HTS supported by Turkey have intensified attacks on Manbij region, but the SDF announced repelling all the attacks. The attacks leave casualties among the attackers.
