AANES hands over 94 people of ISIS families to Kyrgyzstan
QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – The Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES) handed over on Monday 64 children and 30 women of the families of the Islamic State (ISIS) to a delegation from Kyrgyzstan according to an official delivery document between the two parties.
This took place during an official visit by a delegation from Kyrgyzstan on Monday to Northeast Syria, where the delegation included the representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan, Bakit Kadyrov, and other senior officials.
Deputy Co-chair of the AANES Department of Foreign Relations, Rubel Baho, and members of the AANES, Khaled Ibrahim, and Gulistan Ali, received the Kyrgyz delegation.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed the relations between the AANES and the Republic of Kyrgyzstan, and some issues including “the fight against international terrorism and the sacrifices made by the people of the region in confronting ISIS.”
“The AANES decided to start trying ISIS militants of foreign nationalities, and we ask the Republic of Kyrgyzstan and the international community to provide support and assistance, to establish fair and transparent courts for those terrorists and address their situations,” Rubel Baho said.
“The Republic of Kyrgyzstan recognizes the sacrifices made by the AANES and the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) in fighting ISIS,” Bakit Kadyrov said.
At the end of the meeting, he expressed his gratitude to the AANES and the SDF for their assistance in repatriating the citizens of Kyrgyzstan.
