Jubur tribe-government negotiations in Syria’s Hasakah fail
HASSAKSH, Syria (North Press) – Akram Mahshoush, a notable from Jubur tribe in Hasakah Governorate, northeast Syria, told North Press on Wednesday that negotiations with Syrian government yielded no progress regarding demands of disbanding National Defense Forces (NDF) and ousting its leader.
Earlier today, a delegation of Jubur and Arab tribes entered Hasakah Governorate building to make sure whether Abdulqader Hamo, the NDF leader, has been expelled or not.
“The governor’s words about law prevailing is not accurate, because they are not able to arrest a person who humiliated all people of the city,” Mahshoush added.
He also noted that after the Syrian government’s failure to meet their demands, they are now considering all possibilities regarding the ongoing issue with the NDF and their still-at-large leader.
On August 13, Hamo, physically assaulted Sheikh Abdulaziz Muhammad al-Meslet, a leader in the tribe, and his nephew, enraging the tribe’s members who later took to the streets in Hasakah and attacked NDF headquarters demanding the government hand over Hamo.
