Jordan shoots down UAV carrying explosives coming from Syria
DAMASCUS, Syria (North Press) – On Wednesday, Jordanian army announced that it had successfully intercepted and shot down an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) loaded with explosives that originated from Syrian territory.
Jordanian News Agency reported, citing the Jordanian army that the Eastern Military Zone had intercepted and brought down a UAV carrying TNT explosives as it entered the designated area under its responsibility from Syria.
A reliable military source from the General Command of the Jordanian Armed Forces also confirmed that border guard forces had detected an unauthorized attempt by an unmanned aerial vehicle to breach the border from Syria into Jordan. The UAV was subsequently taken down within Jordanian territory.
The source further revealed that a team from the Royal Engineering Corps was responsible for handling the UAV.
