US troops conduct patrols in Syria’s Derbasiyah
HASAKAH, Syria (North Press) – US troops conducted on Sunday a patrol consisting seven armored military vehicles along with special units of Internal Security Forces of North and East Syria (Asayish) in the village of Seranah east of the city of Derbasiyah, north of Hasakah.
A local source from the village told North Press that this was the second time within 24 hours that US forces had conducted a joint patrol with the Asayish units in Seranah.
On Saturday, the US troops conducted a patrol consisting of three armored military vehicles with the Asayish special units in the same village.
The first patrol consisted of three armored vehicles, and today the number of armored vehicles increased to seven, in addition to four vehicles belonging to the Asayish units, the source added. They also cut off the road to and from the village.
At the time of writing this report, the US troops remain present in the mentioned village, and the reason for their deployment or presence in the village is currently unknown.
Four years ago, the US troops withdrew from that area just before the Turkish operation against the cities of Sere Kaniye (Ras al-Ain), in the countryside of Hasakah, and Tel Abyad, in the northern countryside of Raqqa, in October 2019.
