Four people injured in bomb attack in Damascus

DAMASCUS, Syria (North Press) – Four people were injured on Sunday after a group of assailants threw a bomb in one of the streets in the Damascus district of Dummar.

The Syrian Ministry of Interior said that a group of four individuals attacked passersby in one of the eastern neighborhoods of Dummar and threw a bomb which resulted in wounding four people with varying degrees of injuries.

The ministry said in a statement on Facebook that Dummar police department in Damascus were notified that a person, accompanied by his brother and two others, attacked passersby, stabbing one of them and throwing a bomb.

It added that the bombing resulted in the injury of three other people who were present at the scene, noting that the perpetrators fled to an unknown destination.

The police patrol immediately headed to the scene and transported the injured to al-Mouwasat Hospital for treatment.

The ministry pointed out that “the Criminal Security Branch in Damascus was able to arrest one of the group’s members and seize a bomb in their possession. Investigations are still ongoing.”
