4 killed in armed attack in eastern Daraa

DARAA, Syria (North Press) – Four people were killed on Thursday after unidentified gunmen targeted their vehicle in the eastern countryside of Daraa, southern Syria.

A local source told North Press, “Unidentified assailants opened fire on a car carrying four people on the Atman road, north of Daraa.”

“The deceased are Abdul-Nasser Kiwan, aka Aboud al-Shalbak, Muhammad Kiwan, Wassim al-Rashrash and Muhammad al-Khadija,” the source said.

After being targeted, the source stated, they were taken to the Daraa National Hospital, where they succumbed to their wounds.

“The main target was Abdul-Nasser Kiwan, who hails from the city of Tafas in the western countryside of Daraa and leads a group affiliated with the Air Force Intelligence of the Syrian government forces in his city,” the source said.

The source pointed out that Kiwan’s group is accused of abducting residents to get ransoms from their relatives. They are also accused of thefts in the same area.
