ISIS claims responsibility for attack on Iraqi army

DEIR EZ-ZOR, Syria (North Press) – The Islamic State (ISIS) claimed on Friday responsibility for carrying out an operation against a military barracks of the Iraqi army.

The ISIS-run Amaq news agency said, in a statement, that its gunmen targeted, with various weapons, a military barracks of the Iraqi army, near the border area of Arar, in Anbar Province.

The explosion injured a soldier and damaged the barracks, while ISIS militants returned to their positions, the statement added.

On Friday, ISIS claimed responsibility for 20 operations it carried out in Syria, Iraq and areas in Africa and Asia, recording 105 victims.

Lately, ISIS’ activities has significantly increase despite the operations carried out by the US-led Global Coalition and its partner forces to defeat the group.
