AANES accuses government of impeding evacuation of Syrians from Sudan
QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES) accused on Friday Syrian government of hindering evacuating flights of Syrians from Sudan.
Foreign Relations Department of the AANES said, in a statement, that the Syrian government is imposing prohibitive conditions that hinder the process of organizing flights to evacuate the Syrians stranded in Sudan.
The AANES announced on May 30 evacuating 369 Syrian refugees from Sudan.
The AANES coordinated with Cham Wings Airlines to evacuate the Syrian refugees, but the Syrian authorities intervened and interrupted organizing more flights for the sake of the AANES, according to the statement.
The AANES accused the government of practicing misinformation and said that a high-ranking official of the Syrian Foreign Ministry claimed that they organized two free flights of Cham Wings Airlines for the stranded Syrians in Sudan, which is untrue, according to the statement.
In addition, the AANES held the Syrian government accountable for impeding the return of the refugees and called for facilitations to evacuate them.
