Syria’s Assad, Saudi Crown Prince meet on Arab Summit sideline
DAMASCUS, Syria (North Press) – Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz and Syrian President Bashar al-Assad discussed bilateral ties and recent regional developments on the sideline of the Arab Summit on Friday.
The two parties discussed bilateral relations between the two countries and recent developments in the Arab world in light the positive atmosphere prevailing intra-Arab ties recently.
Al-Assad expressed appreciation of Saudi efforts to return Syria to the Arab League, and for its role in reaching Arab rapprochement and creating political environment that encourages joint work among Arab countries towards fulfilling benefit to their people.
On May 7, Arab foreign ministers of the Arab League agreed on Syria’s official return to its seat in the Arab League after more than 10 years of suspension.
The Syrian president congratulated Bin Abdulaziz for the success of Jeddah summit, stressing that it would contribute in increasing Arab Cohesion.
