Turkish border guards wound 4 civilians in western Idlib

IDLIB, Syria (North Press) – Turkish border guards shot at and wounded four civilians, including a woman, while they were trying to cross the border into Turkey from the village of Azmarin, west Idlib, northwest Syria.

A source from the Azmarin police, affiliated with Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS), said, ” Gunshots were heard around 6 am from the border area, prompting some residents to rush to the area. They provided help to four people, including a woman, who had attempted to cross into Turkey, taking advantage of the disruptions caused by the Turkish elections.”

The source clarified that the border guards directly targeted the victims without issuing any warning. “The injured were taken to a hospital in Jisr al-Shughur city, in western Idlib. The woman is suffering from a severe abdominal injury.”

Turkish border guards continue to shoot at civilians, who want to cross into Turkey looking for a better future, along the Khirbat al-Jouz and Azmarin axes in western Idlib.
