Saudi Arabia calls on citizens to avoid polling centers in Turkey
QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – Saudi Arabia’s consulate in Istanbul called on Saudi citizens to stay away from polling centers for the presidential and parliamentary elections that are taking place today.
The consulate asked the citizens to avoid crowded places and stressed the importance of carrying identification papers when going out.
It also called on citizens to communicate with the diplomatic mission in emergency cases.
More than 64.1 million voters will cast votes in Turkey and abroad. Around 4.9 million will vote for the first time in the country.
Voters will choose between President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, who is seeking reelection; main opposition candidate and leader of the Republican People’s Party (CHP) Kemal Kilicdaroglu; and Sinan Ogan.
However, the fourth candidate Muharrem Ince, withdrew from the race on Thursday.
