Our peaceful initiative confirms Syrian integrity – AANES official
QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – Our peaceful initiative for the Syrian crisis confirms the territorial integrity of Syria and the equal rights of all Syrians, said Badran Chiya Kurd, co-chair of the Foreign Relations Department of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES), on Friday.
Last week, the AANES announced the launch of an initiative called the Peaceful Resolution of the Syrian Crisis, in accordance with United Nations resolutions, saying that it would work hard to take the steps needed to solve the crisis and to establish peace and stability, especially since international and regional initiatives and platforms such as Geneva, Astana, the Constitutional Committee, and others did not result in any remarkable outcomes in resolving the Syrian crisis so far, as it put it.
“Our initiative is a confirmation on the territorial integrity of Syria, the equal rights of all Syrians, establishing a de-centralized, democratic and pluralistic system where all Syrians can live in freedom, and the equitable distribution of the natural and economic resources,” Chiya Kurd added.
In an exclusive statement to the Kurdish local news agency of Hawar (ANHA), the AANES official noted to their readiness to receive the refugees and the displaced people, and the continuation of confronting the “terrorist groups”. He said, “The AANES showed its willingness to live in peace with Turkey and all the neighboring countries.”
He pointed out that the AANES aims at activating the efforts for the dialogue and the solution of the crisis according to the Syrians’ need, their interests, and the future.
The AANES was first formed in 2014 in the Kurdish-majority regions of Afrin, Kobani and Jazira in northern Syria following the withdrawal of the government forces. Later, it was expanded to Manbij, Tabqa, Raqqa, Hasakah and Deir ez-Zor after the SDF defeated ISIS militarily there.
Chiya Kurd stressed that the Syrian crisis will not end with the attempts of normalizations, on the contrary, “the matter relates to a comprehensive political change and to build relations with all parties of the conflict, but with only one party at the expense of another.”
When reading its statement last week, the AANES voiced its readiness to meet and start a dialogue with the Syrian government and with all Syrian parties to discuss to present resolution initiatives for the Syrian crisis.
“The initiative is a Syrian one. It has been launched inside Syrian territory and it aims at activating the intra-Syrian dialogue as a basis for the solution,” he concluded.
