Israel launches investigation into drone crash in Syria
DAMASCUS, Syria (North Press) – On Wednesday, the Israeli military announced launching an investigation into the incident of a drone crash in Syrian territory.
An IDF drone aircraft crashed in southern Syria, while operating in Syrian airspace overnight.
An Israel army spokesperson said, “During a routine operation, an unmanned aircraft…fell in Syrian territory following a technical malfunction.”
“No sensitive information was revealed” as a result of the crash, the spokesperson added.
He stressed, “The incident is under investigation.”
Israeli forces targeted on Tuesday a military post of the Syrian government forces in the southern countryside of Quneitra, southern Syria.
A local source told North Press that “Israeli forces targeted with several rockets the post of the Seventh Corps of the government forces.”
Israel has carried out hundreds of airstrikes inside Syria over the past few years, targeting what it says to be Iranian-backed militia’s strongholds.
