AANES calls for peaceful resolution initiative of Syrian crisis

RAQQA, Syria (North Press) – On Tuesday, the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES) launched an initiative called the Peaceful Resolution of the Syrian Crisis, in accordance with United Nations resolutions, after the failure of all international initiatives.

The statement was released in front of the building of the AANES’ Executive Council, with officials from all administrations of the AANES in attendance.

The AANES said it would work hard to take the steps needed to solve the crisis and to establish peace and stability, especially since international and regional initiatives and platforms such as Geneva, Astana, the Constitutional Committee, and others did not result in any remarkable outcomes in resolving the Syrian crisis so far.

The statement called on the Syrian government to show a responsible stance and take urgent steps to contribute to a successful resolution.

It stressed the unity of Syrian territories and the readiness of the AANES to meet and start a dialogue with the Syrian government and with all Syrian parties to discuss to present resolution initiatives for the Syrian crisis.

It also called for the distribution of the current resources “fairly” among all Syrian regions, such as oil, gas, and crops. “It is necessary to share and reach an agreement with the Syrian government through dialogue and negotiation.”

The AANES expressed their determination to combat terrorism and continue the fight against ISIS and other groups that threaten the security of Syria and the world.

They called on the United Nations and all international actors in Syria to play a positive and effective role, and to contribute to a joint solution with the Syrian government, AANES, and national democratic forces, and to reach a democratic and peaceful solution in Syria.

The AANES considered that it had a clear and reasonable solution to present to all parties to build a basis for future dialogue and agreement and invited everyone to contribute at the current phase by speeding efforts and endeavors to end the conflict under UN Security Council resolution 2254.
