DAMASCUS, Syria (North Press) – Six people were killed on Saturday in a landmine explosion while hunting for truffles in the Sukhnah desert in the eastern countryside of Homs, central Syria.
An anti-armor mine left by the Islamic State (ISIS) exploded when a vehicle carrying several individuals passed by, the state-run SANA News Agency reported.
The agency added that six civilians were killed while they were heading to Mount Omour region in the Sukhnah desert for truffle hunting.
On February 17, 53 truffle hunters were killed in southeastern Sukhnah city in the eastern countryside of Homs, according to local sources.
