ISIS claims responsibility for 2 attacks in Iraq’s Kirkuk
DEIR EZ-ZOR, Syria (North Press) – On Wednesday, the Islamic State (ISIS) claimed responsibility for two attacks against the Iraqi army in Kirkuk in northern Iraq.
The ISIS-run Amaq news agency said in a statement that the group’s militants attacked a vehicle belonging to the Iraqi army near the village of Rubeyda in the city of Daquq in Kirkuk.
The attack caused damage to the vehicle and injured one member of the Iraqi army.
In another statement, the agency reported that the group’s militants attacked with machineguns and grenades an Iraqi army headquarters in the village of al-Tamayma in the town of Hawija in Kirkuk.
The attacks killed one member of the Iraqi army and injured two others as well as damaged a Hummer vehicle and a thermal camera.
