Ambassadors of Syria, Iraq, Iran, Saudi Arabia to Oman meet in Muscat
QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – Ambassadors of Syria, Idris Mayya; Iraq, Qais Al-Amiri; Saudi Arabia, Abdullah al-Enezi; and Iran, Ali Najafi, to Oman held on Tuesday a quadrilateral meeting in Muscat, the capital of Oman.
In the meeting, the aforementioned parties discussed and exchanged views about the great opportunities of the regional countries in the shadow of peace established in the region, according to Omani sources, citing the Iraqi ambassador.
The meeting is the first of its kind among the abovementioned ambassadors and follows resuming ties between Saudi Arabia and Iran.
On March 10, Iran, Saudi Arabia, and China released a trilateral statement, announcing resuming ties between Iran and Saudi, ending years of tension.
Saudi Arabia cut off relations with Iran in 2016 after Iranian protesters attacked the Saudi embassy in response to Saudi Arabia executing Shiite cleric Nimr al-Nimr.
